Siemens Healthineers and Onvida Health have entered a 10-year agreement aimed at updating medical technology and improving operational performance across the Arizona-based health system.

Under the arrangement, Siemens Healthineers will replace and standardize diagnostic imaging and therapy equipment across Onvida Health’s facilities, while its affiliate, ECG Management Consultants, will advise on operational and strategic planning. The effort is intended to address capacity constraints and streamline workflows as patient volumes grow.

Onvida Health operates a 430-bed system in Yuma, Arizona, a region experiencing steady population increases. The area includes more than 220,000 full-time residents and sees a seasonal influx of approximately 90,000 additional people during winter months, placing added demand on local healthcare services.

The partnership includes upgrades to computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasound, and radiation therapy systems. Health system leaders expect the changes to reduce wait times and support faster diagnosis and treatment.

“As a leading rural, regional health system, Onvida Health values the importance of investing in technology today, and the impact it has on healthcare tomorrow,” said Robert J. Trenschel, DO, president & CEO at Onvida Heath. “Partnerships like this build on our ongoing commitment to providing our patients the same level of advanced, innovative technology often reserved for major metropolitan areas.”

In addition to equipment modernization, the agreement focuses on longer-term planning tied to workforce constraints, scheduling, and service line development, including cardiology, oncology, and imaging.

“By focusing on improvements in rural health and quality of care in rapidly growing communities, Onvida Health and Siemens Healthineers are combining local expertise and commitment with the advanced technology and insights we’ve developed by collaborating with providers around the world,” said John Kowal, president and head of the Americas at Siemens Healthineers.
