The Neuron Clinic has launched a new Alzheimer’s & Dementia Care Center at its San Marcos, California location, featuring on-site PET brain imaging using the NeuroLF system from Positrigo.

The clinic is the first independent neurology practice in the U.S. to install the dedicated brain PET scanner, which is designed for early and accurate detection of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.

Developed by Zurich-based Positrigo, the NeuroLF system enables clinicians to perform brain PET scans in-office without the need to refer patients to external imaging centers. Its compact design and capability to detect amyloid and other biomarkers associated with neurodegenerative disease make it suited for outpatient neurology settings.

“Launching our Alzheimer’s & Dementia Center with NeuroLF at its core represents a transformation in how we can serve patients experiencing memory loss and cognitive symptoms,” said Dr. Branko Huisa, founder and medical director of the Neuron Clinic. “Accurate diagnosis is the single most important step in providing effective care.”

The move comes amid growing clinical adoption of blood-based biomarkers for dementia screening, which are increasing demand for confirmatory PET imaging. By integrating molecular imaging directly into neurologic practices, clinics can reduce the time to diagnosis and streamline treatment decisions.

Dr. Jose Soria, medical director of the new center, emphasized the benefits of decentralizing advanced diagnostics. “This model shortens the time to diagnosis, strengthens continuity of care, and ensures patients can receive evaluation, imaging, and treatment in a single, trusted environment, close to where they live.”

The center will combine brain PET with cognitive assessments and individualized care planning, allowing for a coordinated approach to managing cognitive decline. According to Positrigo cofounder and CEO Dr. Jannis Fischer, the installation supports the company’s goal of “broadening access to advanced brain imaging.”

NeuroLF has market clearance in both the U.S. and European Union.
