DHL Supply Chain has completed its acquisition of SDS Rx, a final-mile delivery company focused on healthcare and life sciences.

The deal adds more than 200 U.S. locations to DHL’s network and strengthens its presence in time-sensitive medical transportation.

SDS Rx, based in Westerville, Ohio, will be integrated into DHL’s Life Sciences & Healthcare division. The move is part of DHL's broader strategy to deepen its footprint in specialized healthcare logistics, particularly around last-mile services for health systems, care centers and home-based patients.
“Final-mile delivery is a critical component of the healthcare logistics ecosystem. With SDS Rx now part of our network, we are well positioned to serve health systems, care centers, and patients with precision, speed, and care,” said Mark Kunar, CEO of DHL Supply Chain North America.

According to the company, SDS Rx operations will continue under existing local leadership while integration efforts are underway. The focus during the transition will be on maintaining service continuity and expanding DHL’s capabilities across the healthcare value chain.

DHL Supply Chain is the North American logistics arm of Deutsche Post DHL Group, headquartered in Bonn, Germany. The acquisition aligns with its ongoing efforts to provide end-to-end logistics solutions for the healthcare industry, including cold chain management, pharmaceutical distribution, and medical device transportation.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
