Community Hospital Corporation (CHC) plans to build a $400 million nonprofit acute care hospital in Sherman, Texas, with construction scheduled to begin in early 2026. The facility, to be named Heritage Regional Medical Center, is expected to open in early 2028.
The first phase of the project will include 100 inpatient beds and the infrastructure to expand to an additional 200 beds. Initial staffing is projected at more than 400 employees, with potential growth to more than 1,000 as services expand. Planned departments include surgery, imaging, emergency care, and outpatient services.
The project is being developed in partnership with the City of Sherman, Grayson County, First United Bank, Simmons Bank, First State Bank, two tribal nations, the WNJ Health Foundation, the Texoma Community Foundation, and real estate developer Covenant Development. ADAMS Management Services Corporation will serve as owners' representative, and Nashville-based architecture firm ESa will design the facility.

He also announced that Ron Seal, who has previously served as CEO of Texoma Medical Center and Wesley Health Services in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, will be the incoming CEO for Heritage Regional Medical Center.
The hospital will be located within the Heritage Ranch Master Planned Community in southwest Sherman, near the intersection of Highway 82 and FM 1417.
