The Christ Hospital Health Network has secured a $15 million donation from the Farmer Family Foundation, marking the largest philanthropic contribution in the organization’s history.

The gift will fund a new cardiac operating suite within the Heart & Vascular Institute, complete with a broadcast center designed to support real-time surgical education for physicians both locally and internationally. It will also help bring advanced imaging technologies—such as MR, CT, and PET/CT scanners—to the Cincinnati-based health system.

According to the network, the donation supports efforts to expand noninvasive diagnostic services and offer more precise tools for identifying and treating cardiovascular disease. It also aligns with the hospital’s broader strategy to develop the Heart & Vascular Institute into a nationally recognized hub for cardiovascular care.

“We are deeply grateful to the Farmer Family Foundation for believing in our mission and investing in the important work we are undertaking to change healthcare,” said Debbie Hayes, president and CEO of The Christ Hospital Health Network.

The donation is also expected to enhance the hospital’s ability to recruit specialized physicians, nurses, and staff, reinforcing its role as a regional referral center.

Dean Kereiakes, M.D., chairman of the Heart & Vascular Institute, described the gift as instrumental in raising the hospital’s national profile. “The Farmer Family gift positions The Christ Hospital Heart and Vascular Institute to be a national leader in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of heart disease, right here in Cincinnati,” he said.

George Joseph, trustee of the Farmer Family Foundation, noted the gift reflects the foundation’s intent to expand access to high-level cardiovascular care in the region. “We are proud to partner with The Christ Hospital Health Network in their mission to provide cutting-edge cardiovascular care and improve patient outcomes,” he said.
