Prime Healthcare taps CIVIE to modernize and standardize radiology operations at eight recently acquires Illinois hospitals.
The move is part of a broader effort by the Ontario, California-based health system to integrate clinical workflows across its expanding footprint. Based in Dallas, CIVIE provides radiology workflow and information systems designed to support imaging departments across the patient care journey, from order entry through reporting and payment.
The collaboration will center on CIVIE’s cloud-native platform, RadPod, which will be deployed to unify imaging workflows and improve turnaround times across the hospitals. The technology supports radiologist performance with features such as intelligent case routing, real-time analytics, and AI-powered diagnostic tools.

“We are excited to partner with Prime Healthcare during this important phase of growth,” said Dhruv Chopra, CEO of CIVIE. “Our platform is purpose-built to reduce friction across radiology networks and enable radiologists to deliver high-quality care at scale.”
Prime’s Illinois expansion stems from its acquisition of eight hospitals formerly operated by Ascension Illinois, along with affiliated post-acute facilities and physician groups. As the transition continues, CIVIE’s infrastructure is expected to help maintain continuity of imaging services while enabling future scalability.
“We selected RadPod for its proven ability to deliver results in complex radiology ecosystems,” said Dr. Sunil Patel, senior vice president and regional chief medical officer at Prime Healthcare. “CIVIE’s technology and service model align well with our goals to enhance imaging access, quality and operational performance as we grow our presence in Illinois.”
Prime Healthcare operates 51 hospitals and more than 360 outpatient facilities in 14 states. The Illinois acquisition marks one of the largest expansion efforts in the organization’s recent history.
