Philips PCR Eleva Workstation
with Reader
ANDOVER, MA -- Philips Electronics today announced the launch of the PCR Eleva family, a new range of single and multi-slot systems for cassette-based digital radiography. The Philips PCR Eleva is the next step in computed radiography evolution, offering a single, intuitive and easy to use technologist's workspot. The compact system instantly displays superb quality images, saving time as well as space in the radiography department.
In the past, technologists needed additional workstations or hard copies of film to achieve the necessary image quality to decide on additional examination steps. This made the examination process long and cumbersome. With the new Philips PCR Eleva, the same high-quality images are automatically delivered to the technologist's
workspot next to the X-Ray room, and are later available on Picture Archiving and Communications Systems (PACS) or hardcopy. The results are significant time savings for the technologist through a simplified workflow routine, increasing overall efficiency.

The PCR Eleva's intuitive touch screen user interface is designed around the needs of the clinician. The extensive automation options available minimize manual interaction for routine examinations, allowing technologists to have more time with the patient.
Initially designed for hospitals, imaging centers and medical practices making the first steps towards digitalization, the Philips PCR Eleva systems are also aimed at facilities looking to replace their cassette readers and updating their radiography departments.
"The PCR Eleva systems family demonstrates again Philips commitment to develop technology that provides clinicians with best-in-class image quality and workflow.
PCR Eleva systems easily adapt to all individual workflow requirements of the different radiology departments." states Arne Helbig, International Marketing Manager, General X-ray, for Philips Medical Systems.
For further improved image quality, all PCR Eleva systems and Philips direct radiography systems have Philips advanced multi-resolution image processing software UNIQUE (Unified Image Quality Enhancement) as standard. UNIQUE provides consistently high-resolution image quality with all diagnostic information in one single image.
This ensures consistent image impression on all the Philips equipment throughout the radiology department.
The Philips PCR Eleva follows the IHE guidelines for hospital DICOM networks, such as hospital Radiology Information System (RIS). To ensure maximum efficiency for each examination, the information received from the RIS is used to automatically perform appropriate image processing, RIS return information (Modality Performed Procedure Step), printing and exporting to the PACS system.
