ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Carestream Health, Inc., is increasing the scope of a business segment dedicated to the protection, communication, sharing and distribution of patient information for healthcare institutions.
The company is expanding the role of its eHealth Managed Services organization to include a range of services aimed at providing healthcare customers with secure, cost-effective, dependable solutions for managing the growing volume of patient data.
Carestream Health's eHealth Managed Services operation embraces several worldwide functions including Service Delivery, Engineering and R&D, Service Line Management and Business Development Management.

To manage this important business, the company has named Dr. Bernard Algayres, General Manager of eHealth Managed Services. In this capacity, he will lead all aspects of this global operation, which is part of the company's Healthcare Information Solutions organization.
Carestream Health's sales professionals and indirect channel partners will handle sales of eHealth Managed Services offerings. These teams already provide customers with powerful information storage solutions that include KODAK CARESTREAM Enterprise Information Management (EIM) for enterprise-wide management of imaging studies and other patient data.
Carestream Health, an independent company, has licensed the Kodak brand for use on several leading-edge products such as its PACS and RIS. The company also sells products under its own sub-brands including CARESTREAM, DIRECTVIEW and DRYVIEW to name a few.
EIM solutions can be integrated with existing storage area networks or network-attached storage systems. EIM is part of KODAK CARESTREAM Information Management Solutions, a solutions portfolio that includes KODAK CARESTREAM Regional Information Management (RIM) for enterprise-wide storage management on a regional level. These IT solutions can be scaled to meet the needs of regional healthcare organizations, small-to-large hospitals and outpatient facilities.
Before taking on responsibility for eHealth Managed Services, Dr. Algayres was Regional Business Manager for Carestream Health's European healthcare IT operations. Before joining Kodak's Health Group, Dr. Algayres was General Manager and Vice President of FPDI European Operations, which was acquired by Kodak for the purpose of integrating its state-of-the-art archiving technology into offerings from Kodak's Health Group. Carestream Health continues to sell the KODAK Versatile Intelligent Patient Archive-a solution built on this innovative archiving technology-which is in use by hundreds of healthcare providers around the world.
Dr. Algayres brings more than 20 years' experience in various leadership positions with several IT companies including Alcatel, Unisys and Storagetek. He holds a Masters degree in Engineering from INSA and a PhD in Computer Sciences from Toulouse University. Dr. Algayres resides in France.
