A key part of health care reform includes the use of technology to improve patient care. Although the money in the economic stimulus package passed in 2009 set electronic health records into motion originally, the Affordable Care Act includes some provisions that also calls for their widespread use. The transition has not been easy for many providers, however. One main issue is the number of systems from various vendors that can’t communicate with one another.
