RadNet has acquired the assets of Alpha RT in a move that expands its capabilities in remote diagnostic imaging.
The deal brings Alpha RT’s remote MR staffing services and training programs under the umbrella of DeepHealth, RadNet’s digital health division based in Los Angeles.
The acquisition enhances DeepHealth’s TechLive system, a remote imaging platform that enables technologists to perform or oversee MR, CT, PET, and ultrasound scans from a centralized command center. The company says TechLive has helped reduce MR room downtime and maintain scan quality, citing pilot data showing a 0.06% recall rate and a 42% drop in MR room closures.

Alpha RT, known for vendor-agnostic MR staffing and workforce training, contributes several new components to the portfolio. These include AI-powered safety monitoring in MR environments, certification programs for imaging aides, and centralized workflow scheduling tools that allocate technologist resources based on facility needs.
“Rising patient demand for radiology services, coupled with a shortage of imaging technologists, is creating a significant challenge for imaging providers,” said Dr. Howard Berger, president and CEO of RadNet. “Through this acquisition, we are now able to deliver a comprehensive portfolio of remote-scanning solutions for both external DeepHealth customers and for the RadNet network of imaging centers.”
DeepHealth president and CEO Kees Wesdorp described the deal as a scaling milestone, adding, “We first validated TechLive and remote scanning within the RadNet network. This offering is now available to healthcare providers through DeepHealth. With Alpha RT, we can now deliver services to those imaging centers that need technologist staffing as well.”
RadNet operates over 400 outpatient imaging centers across eight states and employs approximately 11,000 people.
DeepHealth will showcase its expanded remote imaging services at the RSNA 2025 annual meeting.
