Varex Imaging Corporation has secured approximately $17 million in new international orders for its high-energy nonintrusive cargo and vehicle inspection systems, to be deployed at sea and land ports to enhance border and cargo security.

The new deals bring the Salt Lake City, Utah-based company's total fiscal year-to-date orders for its cargo systems business to more than $55 million.

In a statement, CEO Sunny Sanyal attributed the orders to, “our strong reputation in high-energy linear accelerator-based imaging and our ability to integrate this technology into our own Varex systems."

The company did not disclose the countries or customers involved in the latest orders, nor did it specify a delivery timeline.

"We are pleased to support the efforts of our customers globally to promote safe and secure ports and borders," Sanyal added.
