Prisma Health has launched two new retail outpatient imaging centers in South Carolina, expanding access to MR, CT, and X-ray services with locations in West Columbia and Greenville.

These centers are designed to serve patients requiring nonurgent diagnostic imaging, allowing for easier scheduling and lower costs compared to hospital-based imaging departments. The move reflects Prisma Health's strategy to enhance outpatient services by providing a more flexible and cost-effective alternative outside the hospital environment, which typically prioritizes emergency and inpatient care.

Prisma Health is South Carolina's largest healthcare organization, with over 29,000 employees and an extensive network of hospitals and clinics. Serving nearly 1.5 million patients annually, the organization continues to expand its reach with initiatives like the new imaging centers to meet the growing demand for outpatient diagnostic services.

"Prisma Health is proud to offer these new imaging centers that will open up greater access to diagnostic services for our patients. These centers have been designed to focus on providing high-quality care in an affordable and convenient manner," she said.

The two new facilities opened at the end of July.
