WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed) issued the following statement from President and CEO Scott Whitaker on the signing into law of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) by President Trump:
“The USMCA is a strong step forward for the medtech industry and the patients we serve. The new agreement’s increase in transparency and fairness, along with the provisions that apply to medical technology, will foster greater patient access to the latest innovations. It’s also great news for American jobs in the medtech manufacturing sector.
“We appreciate U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer, the Trump administration, leaders in Congress, and our trading partners in Mexico and Canada for their hard work on this important agreement, and we look forward to working with them on its implementation.”
