Are you putting your patients at risk? Studies have shown that manual transcription of vitals data produces a 6.5% rate of error on average. Assuming you see 20 patients a day, that's 8 errors each day just acquiring vitals. Midmark can help.

Troubleshooting: Going Beyond the Error Codes Sometimes CT maintenance is simple; the scanner isn't working, error codes point you to the issue, you replace a failed part, and the scanner works once again. But other times, more expertise is required. See an example here

Training. Your money saving alternative to service contracts. Training your engineers on your Siemens Medical Imaging equipment saves time and money every day thereafter. Specialized training courses from Technical Prospects meet the needs of your facility and your engineers at every stage.

Avoid This Common Mistake When Servicing Toshiba CT

Richardson Healthcare is Here to Help: Avoid This Common Mistake When Backing up Calibration Data on Toshiba CT

As an imaging engineer you have dutifully created a site-specific backup disk that includes calibration data. (This should be done frequently. It only takes about 10 minutes or less to do and backs up exam plan protocols, tube alignment data, filament current (i/F) data, etc.)

This calibration data backed up on the site-specific disk is not the actual calibration data itself, which is stored in the RDD or Raw Data Disk array. That is a common misunderstanding.

Rather what you have backed up on the site-specific disk is the management file for the calibration data. This management file is stored on the Scan Side Image Disk Partition E: This is an important distinction. When the time comes to replace a parity disk or more than one data disk in the RDD it means that all NRA (Noise Reduction Algorithm) or water calibration data will be lost. Simply restoring the calibration file from the site specific disk will not be enough to restore proper operation.

Backing up the actual NRA water calibration data* that is stored on the RDD should be done anytime new data is acquired and only takes a few minutes. This calibration data can be stored on the Image Drive on Scan Side Partition E:

How to backup NRA water Calibration Data to drive E:

    1. From a Kornshell window pointing to X:
    2. Type in the following command: WpBackupToHDD[space]-w

The NRA water calibration data will be saved in the CALIB directory on the [E:/] drive. This takes approximately 10 minutes. Much faster than discovering after the fact that you have lost all calibration data!

To restore NRA water calibration data to the RDD after servicing the RDD by replacing disk(s) the commands are similar.

    1. From a Kornshell window pointing to X:
    2. Type in the following command: WpBackupToHDD[space]-r

The NRA water calibration data will be restored to the RDD in about 10 minutes.

This would be considered a best practice to speed up any downtime during servicing the RDD.

*Please note that this does not back up air calibrations. Air calibrations still have to be acquired after replacing the parity disk or more than one data disk in the RDD.

This is only one small way we can help service provides save costs and increase uptime.
