Hi, who is very interested in movies? I guess many people all over the world were waiting for the 79th Annual Academy Awards, which was held at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, California on Sunday, February 25.
Of course, I was so curious what movies would be winners because I watched some films that were nominated - The Departed, Babel, An Inconvenient Truth, Little Miss Sunshine, Dreamgirls, Volver, The Devil Wears Prada, Pan's Labyrinth, Marie Antoinette and Letters from Iwo Jima.
I was hoping
Rinko Kikuchi (a Japanese actress) in Babel, who was one of the nominees for best supporting actress, would win. But Jennifer Hudson in Dreamgirls was the winner. I was sorry for Rinko because many Japanese people expected her to win, yet I have no complaints about the result since I admired Jennifer's performance in the movie as well. Also, I enjoyed when Jennifer sang with Beyonce in the ceremony - that was awesome!

So...as you know, the Oscar in both best picture and directing went to "The Departed." I think that was quite predictable even I wasn't sure whether Babel would win. Do you have any comments about it?
Anyway, every time I watch the annual ceremony, I find it a lot of fun. All presenters try to say something funny, and the show host is supposed to interest people. Especially, Ellen DeGeneres who was the host for the ceremony did a great job. I want to give applause for her outstanding performance and sense of humor.
