Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital has become the first health care facility in the UK to install GE Healthcare's Discovery MR750w, a new wide-bore 3T MRI.
GE made the announcement March 1, only a few days after
revealing the first U.S. commercial installation at an imaging facility in Brooklyn.
The GE Discovery MR750w features a 70-centimeter opening for bigger or claustrophobic patients, as well as the company's ergonomic GEM radiofrequency coils. Six of the units have been installed in Europe, out of 20 worldwide.
