Leesburg, VA - The Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) will host its first Regional Meeting on Monday, October 24 at the Hyatt Regency in San Francisco.
Top imaging informatics experts, government and vendor representatives will offer solutions to critical challenges identified by SIIM members in California to include: radiation dose, interoperability, enterprise imaging informatics, and meaningful use. These same topics topped the list of 2011 imaging informatics trends announced at the SIIM Annual Meeting.
"This forum offers participants the opportunity to become equipped with information and approaches to prepare for California's radiation safety and dose reporting law that goes into effect July 2012, and take back practical imaging informatics essentials to colleagues at their institutions", said J. Anthony Seibert, PhD, FSIIM, Professor, Imaging Research Center, University of California Davis.

The Bay Area SIIM Regional Meeting is intended for radiologists, imaging physicians, medical physicists, PACS/RIS administrators, IT managers, healthcare administrators, and radiation safety personnel. Certificates of attendance will be available for seven hours of credit for Imaging Informatics Professionals to track continuing education eligibility requirements for the American Board of Imaging Informatics (ABII).
