Edwin, error 1004 is related to the small drive relay board, but it could be a number of things, check the swith on the selonid for the large and small field, check your compensator movement. You can call me and can give guide you to several checks. Hope this help.
1004 - Small drives error. Check opto sensors on Collimator
Small Drives Troubleshooting
There are two types of Small Drives problems. The first involves a drive that does not move at all, and the second
involves a drive that reaches position, but the system does not recognize the fact. These errors will usually be
reported by a 2004 Error Code in the system error log. You must view the log to identify which drive is causing the
problem (Filter, Compensator, Collimator Jaws (blades), or Beam Limiter)
No Drive Motion:
1. Check 120 VAC on Collimator Relay Board (Is Neon indicator on?)
2. Check 5 VDC supply in XSC Chassis which goes to Collimator/Rotor Control Board
3. Problem will probably be in the Collimator/Rotor Control Board, Collimator Relay Board, or Collimator.
Drive moves, but system doesn’t recognize:
1. Check opto Sensor on affected drive. Might be able to swap it with the sensor from another drive.
2. Check Feedback cables to Small Drives Board
3. Problem will probably be in the Collimator/Rotor Control Board, Collimator Relay Board, or Collimator.
You can manually jumper the drives to rotate by shorting the Test Points below to RS Ground on the collimator
Rotor Control Board. Where there are two test points, one corresponds to each possible motor direction.
