I have a problem in Picker PQ200 CT system . All Plot scans have vertical line artifact. Brain scans have good image quality , but other All scans have ring line artifacts . I checked xray beam and inside of the collimator but everything looks normal. what problem is this?
Has anyone experience with this kind of problem. Thanks.
There is a PLASTIC COMPENSATOR inside the COLLIMATOR. It is broke. They just have a lifespan and yours is over. We have a few or you can find another source. To Verify remove the cover from the front of the collimator, be careful as the cover has lead on it and is a bit heavy so dont let it drop, then use a flashlight and verify a crack in the plastic compensator, then order a new one.

The problem are one or more bad detectors. If I understood your message, you have vertical line in all pilots exept brain pilots (Brain pilots and scans are ok), 2.- The artifact ring is in in the outside of the image (if the artifact is in a small ring in the center, then Marshall is right). The difference is due brain scan use half field and abdominal use full field image. use _dita program to find detectors. Feel free to contact me by email if you need further assistance

I think you should check beam limiter selenoid,if this selenoid doesn't work correctly,you can see again ring artifacts or you should check collimator Relay board
