Hello, anonymous user, first of all: how do You know, exactly, You had problems on the system boards of Your O2?
Secondly, are You sure the new system board You're putting into Your O2 is working? Did You try it on a different system? If You're still stuck, You could have a look at this fault-finding-flowchart, at http://www.nekochan.net/wiki/O2_Diagnostics:_Troubleshooting_Flowchart . As a last resort You could try what they report at http://www.nekochan.net/wiki/O2_Diagnostics:_The_Jumpstart_Procedure .
By the way, I see You wrote "system does not boot", so maybe You meant the system TRIES to boot but cannot really do it? You might simply have a different hard disks and/or operating system configuration. If this is the case, let me know, and I'll guide You through the reconfigure process. You can contact me at techosystems_srl@libero.it .
Best luck!
Hello.
The SGI O2 Computer use a HostId or serial number, this is used with the system software for validate the Software App
if you have to replace your old O2 computer don´t forge put the old PCI card in to new one O2 computer or motherboard because in this card (PCI) are locate a IC (Dallas DS2502) like a transistor and this IC have the system serial number.
O2 has and ID chip which is the MAC address and system ID. This chip sits on the SCSI extender. It is warning written on this part - it must me installed when the main board is replaced. Also problem can be with the processor. If you have two boards with the CPU's you can swap between and see if the board is faulty.
There is also another diagnostic tool: RS232 port 1 - terminal output for monitor. You can use the hypertermnal or similar software to see what is happening.
Please give more informationa as saju and Ivano asked
It keeps the time only, I suppose. I used this computer for SeleCT scanner from Elscint and after the board changing it was only needed to change the SCSI extender slot. Nothing more. Are you sure you have good processor? what about memory?
Lightly used system available direct from the end user customer. MONARCH QUEST
