Acuson Cypress Start-Up Sequence Display

The problem was that response from the keyboard (control knobs etc.) was lost once the image display appeared. Opened it up a couple of times and checked for bad connections etc. but reckon that the fault was a corrupted file during boot-up. Probably due to the unit not having been powered down correctly (ie, switched off at the mains switch at the rear). The cure was getting the roller ball and Enter key ready to click on the dialogue box that comes up briefly during boot up following an abnormal shutdown, and then running the Check Disk(s) option with Fix checked. After a Re-Start the verbose boot-up would appear and ChkDsk would run (and hopefully fix any disk errors). Once this stage had been reached all was well. I should imagine that not shutting down correctly happens quite a lot with this unit, and reckon it’s a pity that Acuson didn’t have the unit run ChkDsk (and whatever else is needed to check and repair disk errors) as a matter of course every time the unit boots up. :)
