I have a couple of De Gotzen Xgenus AC version intra oral x-ray machines. Both machines timers are far out of spec. The exposure is way to short from the selected. I request a 320 ms exposure and get a 253 ms exposure. 16 pulses.
I believe that exposure lengths are based on line frequency. So at 60 Hz 16 pulses would be 256 ms. But at 50 hz it would be 320 ms.
There are two versions of the timer board. One has a US designation on it and I believe it to be for 60 Hz systems. The other has no designation but since the machine is manufactured in Europe it would 50 Hz.
Can anyone confirm that the US version board is for 60 Hz?
Are you sure you're using Xgenus namely AC version? I am asking because there is Xgenus DC on my maintenance and it is pretty old (manufactured in July 2005). And as part of contnental Europe, Russia mains frequiency is 50 Hz, so EU version board is for 50 Hz and the exposure time is 0,32 s.
Yes it is the single phase half wave rectified AC version. I contacted the manufacture. Mine are 2004 models and the timer accuracy is much less than those made 2008 and later. The line frequency does not effect the time.
I had found an operators and service manual online. These were for the newer versions. Post 2008.
The clinic found the operators manual and it says in the specs that the timer on the AC version has an accuracy of plus or minus 100%. Crazy huh.
The clinic also has the service manual and its talks about testing with a PMX I. I retested the timer with my old PMX III and the results are much better.
I have 2 machines manufactured by de Gotzen, both are AC versions and shows the same error code "Err 07". which points to Line supply error, we have provided a voltage stabilizer. but of no use.
Can someone provide a circuit diagram with test points or diagnose this issue, please?
I ran into two problems with the AC version. My piranha does like measuring the time or pulses. I tested again with my old PMX III and got acceptable results.
I had a clinic with two of these machines and both had the same results.

do you have a circuit diagram for the above machine? if so please share, I have 2 machines with Error 7 when we shoot x ray.
