The 17th Annual Health Forum and the American Hospital Association Leadership Summit will be held July 23-25, 2009 at the Marriott San Francisco.

"In Pursuit of Excellence," Improving Patient Care and Hospital Performance through Innovation will attract some 1,200 senior health care leaders and practitioners and feature guest speakers including Robert B. Reich, Professor of Public Policy, University of California at Berkeley and former U.S. Secretary of Labor and Doris Kearns Goodwin, Historian and author of Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln.

The conference will focus on the most promising advances in health care quality, safety and performance improvement with particular emphasis on the leader's role and responsibilities in hospitals and health systems. It will also look at the leadership commitment needed to improve quality and safety, examine opportunities for financing and payment reform and explore strategies for engaging the workforce in creating cultures that attract and retain critical personnel and result in a better patient experience.

Registration for this event on site begins Thursday, July 23, with the summit opening at 1:00 pm by Guest Speaker Robert Reich talking about the economic crisis and its impact on health care.
