Society (APS)
The American Physiological Society (APS) has set aside $50,000 in unrestricted grants to offer relief to physiology graduate students and post-doctorate fellows who suffered losses from the recent Hurricane Ike that slammed the coast of Texas.
Grants up to $2,000 per individual are offered to help students and fellows who are members of APS or are working for APS members. The monies are intended to replace lost belongings, or pay expenses or for relocation suffered as a result of the storm. The application deadline is October 24th.
"We want to help our graduate students and post-docs get back on their feet and back to work as soon as possible so that they can continue their valuable contributions to the field of physiology," said APS President Irving Zucker.
