Premier Radiology acquires NationalRad.
Teleradiology company Premier Radiology Services in Miami is expanding its subspecialty care options for outpatient diagnostic care by acquiring Specialists in Diagnostic Imaging, also known as NationalRad.

With over 100 radiologists in its network, Premier interprets approximately two million medical images annually for primary care providers, mobile imaging practices, occupational health centers, urgent care providers, and outpatient imaging centers. It offers 24/7 coverage for general X-rays, NIOSH B-reads, TB screenings, preemployment screenings, cardiac screenings, and musculoskeletal and general ultrasound interpretations, and also has specialized programs, including Radiology as a Service for teleradiology workflow and its Corporate Radiology Safety Officer program.

The addition of NationalRad is expected to bolster Premiers’ expertise in musculoskeletal Imaging (MSK) and neuroradiology MR exams. Based in Deerfield Beach, Florida, the company has been providing subspecialty teleradiology to outpatient imaging centers, orthopedic practices, university health systems, and professional sports teams since 1999. It also provides consulting, accreditation, and second-opinion services.

“We’re excited to work with NationalRad to increase and diversify our respective service offerings, increase our clinical capacity, and improve patient care and outcomes,” said Premier CEO Drew Gaudet in a statement.

The deal is the first acquisition by Premier since its own last year by private equity firm Grovecourt Capital Partners, which specializes in lower-middle market private deals. Grovecourt Capital Partners acquires and partners with healthcare companies specializing in distribution, outsourced services, equipment refurbishment, healthcare IT, and specialty physician practices.

Premier operates in 48 states. Its deals with NationalRad and Grovecourt align with its aim to scale its operations. Earlier this month, the company also announced an extension of its long-term contract with Concentra, the nation’s largest and leading occupational medicine provider, through the end of 2030 to better meet the growing demands of occupational radiology.

“With Premier by our side, we will attract even more skilled radiologists as we continue to invest in our technology and our talented team,” said Dr. Michael Zlatkin, president of NationalRad.

Financial details for the acquisition of NationalRad were not disclosed.
