Tampa, FL — HCA Healthcare West Florida Division is pleased to announce that Brent Burish is the Interim chief executive officer (CEO) at HCA Florida St. Petersburg Hospital effective today. Burish assumes these additional responsibilities while continuing as CEO of HCA Florida Pasadena Hospital. Burish has more than 17 years healthcare leadership experience joining Pasadena Hospital as CEO in August 2022.

“Brent is an engaged leader whose passion for quality, growth and community involvement will drive stability and align strategies across the south Pinellas market,” said Jyric Sims, President of HCA Healthcare West Florida Division.

Since his arrival at Pasadena Hospital, Burish completed a $10 million renovation project and has been a strong advocate for community engagement, serving on the Board of the Tampa Bay Beaches Chamber of Commerce and the Pinellas County Emergency Management Medical Control. He has been instrumental in the Project Search implementation at the hospital, supporting the education and development of five interns with unique abilities who successfully graduated from the program. Burish was promoted to CEO of Pasadena Hospital from HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital where he served as chief operating officer. Prior to that, he served as president and CEO of Orlando Health St. Cloud Hospital.

Burish graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and a Master of Business Administration (MBA). He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Burish and his wife Kathryn reside in St. Petersburg with their four children.
