Omega Medical Imaging has installed its new E-View.AI interventional endoscopy system at Orlando Health in Florida.

The solution is designed to reduce radiation exposure to patients and staff during endoscopic procedures by up to 84%. Additionally, it utilizes AI to automatically detect the physician’s region of interest to create a hands-free operation.

“Patients that suffer from complex digestive disorders and the staff that cares for them are concerned about the negative health risks from ionizing radiation exposure. With the Omega E-View.AI comes a peace of mind, knowing that advanced technology during their fluoro or cine procedure provides significant protection and excellent image quality over conventional image-guided systems,” Dan Alred, marketing manager for Omega Medical Imaging, told HCB News.

The Omega E-View.AI generates quality images for the ROI while maintaining the full field of view. It is the only fluoro solution designed specifically for endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), a procedure for diagnosing and treating problems in the liver, gallbladder, bile ducts and pancreas.

The solution’s table and C-arm configuration are fully integrated and controlled from a single panel for better patient positioning and visualization for the ROI. The C-arm can be swung away when not being used and a mobile table is also available for more flexibility.

Omega Medical Imaging installed the system last summer at the Pali Momi Medical Center in Hawai’i. It was the first AI image-guided system in the whole state.

It also recently spun off its external medical equipment service and repair efforts as OMI MedTech. The new company operates primarily in the greater Central Florida area.
