Yesterday the U.S. Federal Trade Commissioners unanimously voted to increase efforts to address illegal right to repair restrictions. The FTC is the chief independent U.S. competition agency.

IAMERS General Counsel Robert Kerwin commented “we much look forward to the FTC’s special focus on repair restrictions, which remain all too prevalent in industries such as diagnostic imaging equipment. Hospitals should have choices beyond the manufacturers.”

About IAMERS: Independent sellers and servicers of used imaging equipment formed the International Association of Medical Equipment Remarketers and Servicers (IAMERS) as a unique world-wide association committed to patient safety, networking and advocacy. IAMERS actively participates in regulatory and legislative advocacy in the U.S., E.U. and worldwide. IAMERS provides annual educational meetings, focusing on important issues affecting members’ businesses. IAMERS members regularly meet at annual networking receptions at both the RSNA and the ECR.
