Stratford, CT, February 18, 2020 – KUB Technologies, a U.S. medical device company that develops digital technologies used in the treatment of breast cancer, announced today it has been granted two new patents by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

Patent US 15/892,482 describes both the system and the method for implementing voice control on the KUBTEC Mozart® System, a 3D imaging system that that allows visualization of surgical margins during breast cancer procedures. Voice control capabilities will vastly improve the workflow of the operating room, and having a system in the OR that can be used without compromising sterility is beneficial to the hospital's risk profile.

Meanwhile, patent US 16/282,914 describes the system and method in which KUBTEC integrates an optical camera into its intraoperative systems that will allow surgeons to see the physical specimen captured on the same screen as the 3D images. This enables medical professionals to easily navigate through the specimen anatomy, saving time and improving accuracy.

"The two new patents mark important additions to KUBTEC's intellectual property estate and significantly enhance the company's technology and product pipeline at an important time for the company," said Vikram Butani, Chief Executive of KUB Technologies. "As KUBTEC continues its growth in the medical device industry, the 3D tomosynthesis technology embodied in the Mozart system is rapidly becoming the method of choice for surgeons determined to provide the best possible care for breast cancer patients."
