AHIMA’s annual conference promises to inspire and empower in Chicago

September 11, 2019

Innovations and industry trends
AHIMA’s inaugural Pitch Competition will challenge aspiring leaders to develop innovative solutions that drive the transformation of health and healthcare using health data and information to improve connections between people, systems and ideas.

We’ll continue to provide seasoned experts who will enlighten us on the most pressing national and international issues related to clinical documentation, privacy, security, access, data ownership and the impact of pending legislation. Our educational tracks will provide the latest on how the increasing availability of healthcare information is impacting the healthcare ecosystem. Our instructors and trainers will discuss coding methodology and emerging technologies in healthcare. And our healthcare tours will take you inside some of the top healthcare facilities in Chicago.

AHIMA19 will offer an amazing array of events, offerings, speakers and workshops. This year, we’ll also offer Listening Sessions to provide one-on-one time with AHIMA’s leadership team. These sessions are important to me, as CEO, because I understand that leadership is not an individual mission, but a shared vision. In so doing, our 2019 President/Chair Valerie Watzlaf and our 2019 President/Chair-elect Ginna Evans will provide a platform for attendees to ask questions and share ideas about AHIMA’s mission, vision and strategic plan.

Together, these offerings combine for a robust mix of education, empowerment and entertainment at AHIMA19. Add to that, the Chicago skyline as the backdrop, with access to all of the rich history, culture and beauty that is the Windy City.

AHIMA’s members will continue to impact, empower and influence. Together, we will continue to change lives. WE ARE AHIMA.
