Philips suing a former employee!

by Philip F. Jacobus, CEO | April 24, 2019
If you didn't read our report recapping Philips' lawsuit against a former employee, please check it out.

Right now it's a lawsuit and in this country you're considered innocent until proven guilty but I can't imagine that Philips would go through the effort if they didn't feel like they were on firm ground.

If it's true it's really a shame. If it's true it's definitely wrong by any definition of the word.

It did occur to me to ask, 'Why is Philips not suing for patent infringement?' I made a few calls today and I was told that Varex manufacturers a replacement tube so I assume there is no patent infringement.

You can dislike your old employer, you can want to leave for any reason or no reason, they can fire you but if it's true that the fellow took confidential information and then erased his hard drive to cover his tracks then all I can say is two wrongs do not make a right.

I will try to learn more and will let you know what I find out.

As my mother used to say, honesty is the best policy!

Philips Sues a former employee

Your article would have been better if you'd gotten a response from the defendant, and it's not obvious why that wasn't done.

The filings are always written to put the plaintiff's case in the best possible light. There may well be mitigating facts that we are not aware of at this point.

Both parties here have rights, and it would be silly to assume that any large corporation has truth and virtue as its sole motivation, as it would be foolish to assume that about an individual. Either party or both parties or neither party may be dishonest.

It would be interesting to read an article about people who have been sued by their ex employer in our business.
