National Mobile X-ray acquires
MMDS Mobile X-ray
Texas-based National Mobile X-ray (NMXR) has acquired North Carolina’s MMDS Mobile X-ray (MMDS).

The move is perceived as a growth opportunity by NMXR, placing it in a position to expand deeper within the southeastern U.S.

“It gives us more boots on the ground,” Michael Spears of NMXR told HCB News. We can expand the mobile business with the existing Medicare numbers and the providers and the strong personnel that come with MMDS, giving us the ability to expand our business through the Southeast, around areas such as Tennessee and Georgia.”

The Texas-based provider of mobile X-ray, ultrasound and EKG services is now equipped to offer clientele of MMDS with access to services offered on its software platform, designed by its sister company, Emergent Connect.

Among these services are hassle-free EMR integrations, a JCAHO-accredited Radiology Group with the fastest turnaround times in the industry, and a wide variety of high-quality analytical reports to assist with QA and oversight of utilization.

It allows a full dispatch and full EMR integration so that the patient’s records go right back into the patient’s files and EMR,” said Spears. “It’s a full beginning-to-end solution, all the way from tracking the text all the way to billing the Medicare and insurances on the backside.”

Based in Asheville, North Carolina, MMDS Mobile X-ray provides mobile radiology and ancillary services to skilled nursing facilities, ALFs, correctional facilities and home health organizations throughout the state and has done so since expanding its reach statewide in early 2012 from its local target area of western N.C.

No personnel changes are expected to take place. MMDS Mobile X-ray will fall under the National Mobile X-ray name following completion of the deal.
