RamSoft's new apps will automate
the image process
RamSoft debuted a set of new apps last month at the 2018 Radiological Society of North America in Chicago.

Aiming to enhance patient experience and referring physician satisfaction, the three solutions are designed to automate the imaging process and are marketed under the names of openDoctor, PocketHealth, and AuthPal/Patient Access by Availity.

  • openDoctor: openDoctor eliminates scheduler and front desk inefficiencies and reduces the volume of no-shows by equipping PowerServer RIS/PACS with the ability to send reminders and instructions to patients about their imaging appointments by email, text and voice. Patients can then confirm or deny the appointment through a simple process. It also sends a customizable survey to patients following their procedure, enabling RamSoft users to gain key performance indicators to apply to and improve their practice.

  • PocketHealth: A HIPAA-compliant imaging sharing platform, PocketHealth enables providers to share DICOM imaging and reports electronically with patients, eliminating the need for CDs. A patient simply registers for their online account and is then able to access and download their complete record history offline, as well as instantly share access with their physician in full diagnostic quality. Doctors who receive this access can view images in the app’s FDA-compliant, zero-footprint viewer directly from the EMR, thereby improving referring physician satisfaction.

  • AuthPal/PatientAccess: Developed in conjunction with Availity, the app automates the authorization process with AuthPal and optimizes up-front collections with Availity’s Patient access. PatientAccess accurately estimates the pre-service for which patients are responsible, and acts as a verification tool for insurance, medical necessity, address and identity in real time. It can also process payments, follow customized, online scripting tailored for each healthcare provider and patient type, generate meaningful analytics, and calculate contracts for estimating appropriate charges for a deductible, copay, and coinsurance.
