National Imaging Resources (NIR) is integrating artificial intelligence and predictive analytics solutions developed by Glassbeam Inc. into its service offerings as part of its aim to expand its Equipment Service Partnership (ESP) Asset Management program and enhance its multivendor service organization.

The multi-year strategic reseller agreement enables the independent medical imaging and clinical equipment sales and service organization to utilize Glassbeam’s resources to determine "best of breed" performance standards for clients. In exchange, NIR will resell, market, maintain and collaborate on further development of the Glassbeam AI and predictive analytics software for imaging, X-ray and biomedical engineering.

“NIR’s consortium of 16 ISO partners nationwide is increasingly trying to compete with other ISOs as well as large OEMs,” Puneet Pandit, CEO and co-founder of Glassbeam, told HCB News. “Software and analytics allow NIR’s ISO partners to differentiate their offerings and add value for healthcare providers, particularly with sophisticated AI and machine learning tools.”

Glassbeam, according to Pandit, is capable of increasing machine uptime from an industry standard of 96-97 percent to more than 99.5 percent, allowing healthcare organization to save millions of dollars annually.

All features of the Glassbeam machine data analytics solution will be accessible to NIR and its ISO partners, from basic monitoring to advanced analytics for imaging, X-ray and biomedical equipment.

Access to such capabilities is expected to strengthen NIR’s relationship with clientele as Glassbeam Cloud retrieves greater amounts of data from different devices and manufacturers to produce more predictions, scenarios, forecasting and advanced alerts. In addition to helping reduce costs, the information will boost utilization and enhance clinical outcomes faster.

Interactions with clientele are also an advantage for Glassbeam, allowing it to develop solutions for additional medical modalities and innovate its current technologies through the domain expertise offered by NIR.

“Providers are under pressure to do more with less,” said Pandit. “Organizations are being careful about purchasing expensive new equipment, and need to extract maximum utilization from existing fleets. That’s only possible if organizations understand machine utilization and are able to catch problems before they happen for maximum uptime, which is enabled by AI-powered predictive analytics.”

The agreement is one of many established by Glassbeam in the past year, with the most previous one being with Calamed LLC as a strategic reseller, a move which expanded Glassbeam’s footprint into Latin America and the Caribbean. It also signed on Radiographic Equipment Services as a strategic reseller, and Brown’s Medical Imaging as a strategic partner and reseller this spring.

Through its 16 affiliate partners, NIR is based out of 22 offices nationwide and comprises 83 sales professionals and 115 field service engineers who sell and service diagnostic imaging and biomedical equipment as part of their multivendor offerings.
