Earlier this week, the company announced the appointment of Mary Anne Heino as new chief commercial officer. She spoke to DOTmed News about her new job.

DMN: What's your background?
MH: I have had the opportunity to work across multiple therapeutic areas in my career. I have also had the advantage of working in all areas of commercial operations. During my 18 year tenure at Johnson & Johnson, I developed experience with products in all life cycle phases, including the blockbuster products Remicade and Duragesic. I enjoyed the professional challenge of all my roles at Johnson & Johnson, as well as the role of President at Angelini labopharm. I have been fortunate throughout my career to work and learn from talented professionals.

DMN: How long have you been working in the industry?
MH: I have worked in the life sciences and health care industries for more than 26 years.

DMN: What are your goals as chief commercial officer of Lantheus?
MH: In my role as chief commercial officer, an immediate and enduring priority for me will be growing our business, both in the U.S. and internationally, with our current product offerings while meeting the needs of our customers and the patients we serve. I believe we have one of the best product offerings in the industry and I will look to capitalize on that strength.

DMN: What excites you most about the industry these days?
MH: I believe our industry continues to deliver on the promise of adding tremendous value to health care delivery by offering progressive insights that drive care decisions. Our commitment at Lantheus to innovation will ensure we continue as a leader in the imaging industry.
