Africa is a growing market

The number of DOTmed users from the continent of Africa has increased over the last 12 months. In fact, it has increased over the past five years, but over the last 12 months the increase has been higher than in previous years.
One reason could be that DOTmed's news operation creates such interesting content that it's attracting new readers from Africa.
But another reason is the demand for health care is increasing in certain key African markets. As we know from reading the newspapers, there's a fair amount of instability in parts of Africa. But demand exists even in countries with political instability.
From our standpoint, DOTmed would recommend exercising caution when granting credit in this part of the world. But money seems to be flowing.
As for service engineers, we know there are currently service engineers from France, Italy and China working in Africa.
It seems the American vendors haven't invested much energy in this part of the world. But maybe this is something that should be on their radar screen.
Of course, many DOTmed users are a perfect fit given their ability to provide a quality product at a competitive price.

Africa is the next Frontier

I trained and then practiced in the US for almost 14 years and decided to move back to my home country of Zimbabwe. Your article is of great interest to me as I find the west very slow to engage here. I understand the reasoning behind it but waiting till it's "safe" na leave you behind the eight ball. The Chinese as taking all the necessary risks in Africa and are just forging ahead with a long view in mind. I would encourage the west to do the same. The African healthcare market is growing and will continue to do so as the margins in the west particularly in the US continue to shrink. Being a Dotmed fan I continue to use it from here.
