DR Systems picked up the Best in KLAS award in the PACS category for the third year in a row.

The company's Unity PACS took home top honors for large-hospital PACS in the Orem, Utah-based firm's annual software and service rankings, released Friday.

In the rankings, based on interviews with users, DR Systems got a product score of 85.6, edging past second-place finisher Fujifilm Synape, with 83.9, and third place winner McKesson Horizon Medical Imaging, with 83.1, according to the KLAS website.

GE Healthcare Centricity PACS, which won Best in KLAS in 2009 before DR Systems' new reign, placed fifth with 79.5, according to KLAS.

Epic, which nabbed Best in KLAS awards in eight categories and got the top overall software vendor spot, placed first in the radiology category (for large hospitals) with its Epic Radiant — software that has won Best in KLAS since at least 2009. Radiant scored 89.4, according to KLAS. Siemens syngo Worklow, in second place, scored 78.1, while third-place entrant GE Healthcare Centricity RIS-IC received 76.1.

In the teleradiology category, StatRad got top marks for its services, earning 92.1. Last year's winner, Teleradiology Solutions' Teleradiology Services, placed second with 91.6. Third place went to ONRAD, which got 87.

New this year is a category for vendor-neutral archives/image archiving. However, KLAS awarded no Best in KLAS honors to vendors in this segment because their "Konfidence" levels weren't high enough.

KLAS said the rankings are based on interviews with about 19,800 health care providers.
