DOTmed 100 Spotlight
Epoka Medic Mission

DOTmed stalwart Epoka Medic Mission (EMM) has been expanding rapidly since the company began in 2003 with just two people, CEO Lars Braun Nielsen and Theresa Hgenhaug, director of sales and marketing. Today the company has sprouted 14 sales people plus its dozens of freelance technicians.

"Right now we are looking for several more people to work for us based here in Pandrup, Denmark," Hgenhaug said. "We are hiring more sales people for several modalities, and we are hiring technicians to be based here full time.

As always the company is putting great effort into providing the best quality products in the second-user imaging equipment market. The company serves more than 80 countries around the world from its huge 32,000-square-foot Denmark warehouse. "The quality is secured by high-level testing and refurbishing procedures, and this is why we are hiring more technicians," Hgenhaug noted.

The company is experiencing sales growth in all modalities - ultrasound, CT and MRI, X-ray equipment and CR systems.

Hallmarks of success include EMM's readiness to sell directly from inventory or hospital site, a strong focus on good business ethics and reliability, and close relationships with its business partners. Last fall, EMM earned the entrepreneurial Company Award from global consultant Frost & Sullivan. The award is given to the small company (fewer than 300 employees) that demonstrates superior entrepreneurial ability in its industry.

"Our strength is our people," said Nielsen. "We have a team of motivated and very qualified employees who are ready to go the extra mile for our customers and partners. They all strive to fulfill our high ethics and business values."
