Quantum incorporates
Canon's CXDI-50G portable detector
Long Island, NY - Medical equipment manufacturer, Quantum Medical Imaging has completed an installation of a single detector digital imaging system incorporating Canon's CXDI-50G portable detector. The installation took place at the Forest County Potawatomi Health and Wellness Center in Crandon Wisconsin. The sale and installation was facilitated by NXC Imaging, Quantum's "Gold Star" Dealer in the USA.

The Health & Wellness Center in Crandon, WI, was built to provide medical, dental, behavioral health, pharmaceutical services, optometry, physical therapy, speech therapy and community health services to tribal members, other Native Americans, and all residents of the surrounding communities. The 42,000 square-foot center is open to the general public and provides many services which are not available anywhere else within a 30-mile radius including a now totally digital Radiology Department with a Quantum Digital X-Ray system, a Hologic Selenia Digital Mammography system and Ultrasound.

The Quantum Medical Imaging Digital radiographic system installed at the Potawatomi Center by NXC Imaging, is a ceiling mounted system with an elevating, float top table with the Canon CXDI-50G, allowing the technologists to remove it for extremity and off table exams. The wall stand also accommodates the CXDI-50G portable detector providing total system flexibility and throughput. The wall stand has a minimum center of receptor to floor distance of 14.5 inches which provides the ability for weight bearing studies of the lower extremities. Other options provided include the new Quantum QR-LCH Rolling Lateral DR Panel/Cassette Holder and the Quantum QC-WBS Weight Bearing stand which also accommodates the CXDI-50G. The new 22" touchscreen DR console is fully integrated with the Quantum Q-Bus generator for maximum productivity. The strengths behind this digital configuration and its options, lie in the portability of the digital detector which allows for imaging around the patients versus positioning the patient around the DR panel. This is extremely critical when imaging post surgical patients due to their sometimes limited mobility.
