Works well using easy to find EZG & EJV lamps. It has one halogen and one metal halide lightsource with independent dimmer controls as well as a light meter (photometer) to measure the integrity of the fibre optic cable. Lamp wattage can be a maximum of 300w and 150w respectively. Lamp output is regulated by a mechanically graduated slit which widens as more light is demanded. Two STORZ mounts in good condition are included. These have 7cm (approx) ports and are threaded on to the lightsource.
The light source measures 12" deep x 16" wide x 4" high (+ 2" carrying handles). Its age is approximately 20 years. Its Canadian distributor/manufacturer, Laborie, no longer supports this model, although they do continue to provide light sources. The device is simple enough that only light maintenance should be required . Lamp change-ups are eas to do and the lamps are common. The hour meter shows 13 hours, however it is not known if this is accurate or for which lamp it might apply.
